Joseph James Preston (b. 1912, Elgin, Minn.-d. Nov. 27, 1984), U.S. Air Force office, entered the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1938 after graduating from university and was commissioned and earned his pilot wings in 1939. Selmon Willard Wells (b. May 3, 1916, San Francisco, Calif.) was vice commander of the 8th Air Force at Westover Air Force Base from 1965 to 1967. He took command of the 3rd Air Division in 1967.
